Vasanta Kanya Mahavidyalaya to Organise International Lecture Series from 20th August

English for Nation, New Delhi (An academic forum), In collaboration with Vasanta Kanya Mahavidyalaya (VKM), Kamachha, Varanasi, is going to organise an International Lecture Series (Online) from August 20, 2020 to August 26, 2020.

About English for Nation:

It is an academic forum which is constantly working to bring awareness regarding issues of education and social welfare. A few days ago in the month of July, English for Nation has organized a web talk in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kursanda, Hathras Uttar Pradesh. In the web talk Assistant Professors of Delhi University and Government P.G. College, Guna, Madhya Pradesh were major speakers and addressed participants on several ongoing issues. The organization also provides a platform for young talents to showcase their skills like poetry and writings.

The initiative and works performed by them are remarkable as continuously they are trying to connect with Universities and invite Professional experts of a domain not only from India but also from abroad. That depicts their reach and presence.

Due to pandemic, all the activities are performed virtually either it is of registration, attending the sessions or whatsoever it is. So it facilitates and removed all the geographical, class, section, creed boundaries as anyone who is interested can join and attend the lectures by experts. This time to Vasanta Kanya Mahavidyalaya (VKM) in collaboration with English for Nation (An academic forum) is going to conduct this International Lecture series via online mode.

Timeline of Event:

Day 1 will begin with the lecture of Professor A.K. Mishra who is a prominent personnel from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University. He will address the participants on the “Literary Studies and Computer”. The one hour lecture will revolve around the usage of literary studies and computer, its merit, demerits significance etc.

Second day will deal about “Panini and formal methods in Linguistics”, on which lecture will be delivered by Prof G N Jha, who is from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. The key focus of that day will be Panini who is a Sanskrit grammarian and gave a comprehensive, scientific theory of phonetics, phonology, and morphology. And Panini is considered as the founder of language and literature. And us of formal methods in subject matters.

Moving further to the day 3 of the session which would be a lead by Professor C B Sharma on the crucial topic which is “Covid-19 and Curriculum Transaction”. Mr Sharma is a prestigious professor at Indra Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, as well as he was a former chairman in the NIOS board, Noida.  There is a change in patter and curricular in approximately every board so he will address the significance of the same on students.

Day 4 will be based on “Cultural Trauma and Pandemic” that everyone faces due to COVID-19. Here cultural trauma refers to the loss in sociocultural aspects. 1-hour lecture will be delivered by Professor Sanjay Kumar who is a eminent personnel at Department of English, Banaras Hindu University.

Second last day of the event will entirely be based on “Covid-19 and gender”  and all participant will be pleased by the dignified presence of international guest I.e. Prof S Chitra who belongs to Yonphula Centenary College which is an affiliated college of the Royal University of Bhutan. The day discussion will be based on the pandemic and gender concerns.

Last day I.e. day 6 of the event will end by “Knowledge Production in and post Covid-19 World”. On the last day, participants will grab a golden chance to get the viewpoint of International guest who is Dr Sayan Dey, an assistant professor from Yonphula Centenary College, Royal University of Bhutan. The centre point of discussion will be increase in the production of knowledge in and after COVID-19 era.
