Banaras Hindu University: Six volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from Banaras Hindu University have been selected for the camp to participate in the Republic Day Parade to be held at Rajpath on 26 January, 2021 in Delhi. These candidates will perform various cultural customs, folk songs, costumes etc. of Uttar Pradesh including Varanasi. The selected students include Abhijit Singh of Faculty of Commerce, Banaras Hindu University, Arsh Rai from DAV PG College, Samrat Kumar Gautam from Faculty of Arts, Kamaksha Meena from Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Sakshi Singh from Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya and Pragya Rai from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth. Earlier too, students of BHU have been involved in organizing the Republic Day Parade.

The program coordinator of the National Service Scheme, Dr. Bala Lakhendra said that these candidates will participate in the former Republic Day parade camp held at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Agra from 25 November to 4 December. These will be selected on the basis of proficiency in physical ability, parades and cultural events. After this, the students will participate in the Republic Day parade as well as various cultural events. The volunteers have been congratulated for their selection by the Program Coordinator of Kashi Vidyapeeth, Dr. KK Singh, Program Officer Dr. Rita Jaiswal, Dr. Neha Pandey, Dr. Anshu Shukla, Dr. Chinmay Rai etc. At the same time, after knowing about the selection, there is a wave of congratulations in the department in the university’s campus. The selected students are very much excited to be selected.
