BHU Entrance 2020: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is all set to conduct entrance examination for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The university has made standard arrangements at the testing centres spread across the country to ensure that the candidates do not face any problem during their entrance exam.
The first phase of the entrance examination will be conducted from August 24, 2020 to August 31, 2020. Admission to all postgraduate and some undergraduate programs will be conducted in this phase. The second phase of the tests will take place between September 9, 2020, to September 18, 2020 with entrance tests for the remaining undergraduate programs. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Banaras Hindu University has taken several measures to ensure the safety of the candidates. The standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting examinations issued by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, will be strictly followed at the entrance exam centres of BHU.

Standard Operating procedure (SOP) has also been issued to conduct UET/PET to all examination centres outside BHU and Varanasi. SOP will have to be strictly followed by the centres. Seating arrangement during the examination will ensure Social distancing so that there is a distance of at least two meters between the two candidates.
Centres, tables and chairs will be sprayed with disinfectants. The availability of sanitizer bottles and liquid soaps will be ensured and the rooms will be cleaned after every shift. BHU has provided additional funds to the centres so that they are able to bear additional costs to make arrangements as per COVID-19 guidelines.
There will be observers at all the centres, while a central observer team will also oversee the overall conduct of the examination as per COVID-19 guidelines. For hassle-free conduct of entrance examinations, the Vice-Chancellor of BHU has written to the District Magistrates of the respective districts where the examination centres have been set up.
Double the amount given to the examination centers
Banaras Hindu University has provided nearly twice the amount of funds to the examination centres as compared to last year to meet the additional expenses incurred in conducting the examinations in the light of guidelines issued in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic. There will be supervisors at all examination centres and the Central Supervisor Team will monitor whether SOP is being followed for conducting the examination.

For smooth conduct of entrance examinations, Vice-chancellor Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar has written a letter to the District Magistrates of all the districts where examination centres have been set up. For necessary action in this regard, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education has also sent a letter to the Chief Secretaries of the respective states.
