Banaras Hindu University which is also known as the capital of Knowledge is situated on the bank of holy river Ganga, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It has been around 104 years since the BHU is serving and initiating education not only to the students of India but also to students across the globe. Nearly the students of 48 countries take admission in BHU to acquire the knowledge on auspicious heavenly place called Varanasi. Pt. Madam Mohan Malviya Ji has brought the setup of Banaras Hindu University with the collaboration of Annie Besant in the 1916. The 5 km² area of campus accommodates around 30,000 students which makes the BHU as Asia’s largest residential University.
During the initial stage, BHU was self-sufficient to impart the knowledge and gives the best of its services to students but with the passage of time and high application forms induced BHU administration to bring up affiliated colleges. Result of this high demand of students to take admission in BHU, the administrative body starts granting the affiliation of BHU to reputed colleges of Varanasi as the seats and space were limited in numbers but demand and dreams of students were higher. This affiliation process helps and facilitates a lot of students, faculty, staff and stakeholders who are engaged directly or indirectly into it.
