Banaras Hindu University: 19 scientists of BHU has been included in the list of top scientists of the world released by Stanford University. BHU public relations officer Dr Rajesh Singh said on Wednesday that globally reputed scientists here have once again raised the reputation of the university to a new peak.
He has given this information by quoting a study done by the Stanford University of America. He said that the study has recently been published in the internationally renowned research paper PLOS Biology. Names of the world’s top 100,000 scientists in various fields have been included in this study. Along with this, a list of the top two per cent of scientists in various disciplines has also been prepared.

14 Scientists from IIT-BHU
According to an IIT-BHU spokesperson, 14 scientists belonging to the Indian Institute of Technology -BHU, the institute has figured the top 2% of scientists in the world database which is created by a team of 3 scientists led by Dr John PA Ioannidis – Stanford University, California, USA. The list is prepared by Stanford University and has placed around 1,500 scientists, doctors and engineers across the country. The study includes names of 14 professors from IIT-BHU, precasted on the basis of their research and contribution in the paper’s international evaluation.
Expressing happiness over the participation of 19 scientists from this university founded by Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Dr Singh said that it is a matter of pride for everyone to have a list of two top per cent scientists of the world in various disciplines.
He said that this university is one of the few universities in the country that has helped such a large number of scientists get a place in this prestigious list.
